Now Hiring Shelter Receptionist 8-7-13

Shelter Assistant Position

Hours
8 am – 5 pm, 1-2 days per week, some weekends required.
This position is part-time with the possibility of promotion to full-time in the future.

Pay
Starting wage $7.50 per hour

Job Description
The Shelter Assistants are responsible and accountable for the operating of the shelter, including:

  • Animal Care (feeding, exercising, bathing, caring for animals)
  • Assisting with Animal Control  (handling stray animals)
  • Cleaning & Maintenance (cleaning kennels, general cleaning)
  • Customer Service (assisting customers, answering phones, processing adoptions)
  • Daily Cash Handling (assisting customers, using the cash register)
  • General Shelter Operations (stocking supplies, contributing to shelter improvement)
  • Records Keeping (data entry, filing, etc.)

Job Requirements
All applicants must:

  • Be over the age of 18 and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Have a high school diploma.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Have knowledge of and experience handling a variety of animals. Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter preferred.
  • Be familiar with computers and basic software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Have a positive attitude, be self-motivated and have a willingness to learn.

Shelter Receptionist Position

Hours
10 am – 5 pm, Tuesday through Saturday

Pay
Starting wage $7.50 per hour

Job Description
The Shelter Receptionist is responsible and accountable for customer service at the shelter including:

  • Assisting customers in person, by phone, and by email
  • Booking grooming and boarding appointments
  • Using the cash register to complete transactions
  • Entering customer & animal information into the shelter database
  • Supporting the administrative needs of other shelter staff

Job Requirements
All applicants must:

  • Be friendly, outgoing, and welcoming!
  • Have a positive attitude, be self-motivated and have a willingness to learn.
  • Be over the age of 18 and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Have a high school diploma.
  • Have knowledge of a variety of animals.
  • Be familiar with computers and basic software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
