Our Board of Directors
Our dedicated board of directors is comprised of 10 individuals from the Red Wing community. Board meetings are open to the public and are generally held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 5:30 pm at the shelter.

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization. This means that donations to us are tax-deductible. It also means that we have an extra responsibility to be accountable and transparent in how our finances are handled.

Our Federal Tax Returns
We are frequently asked about our sources of funding.
43.5% comes from public donations, including bequests
16.4% comes from animal control services we provide to individuals and municipalities
14.4% comes from adoption fees
7.3% comes from grooming services provided at the Humane Society
6.5% comes from boarding services we provide
3.5% comes from fundraising efforts
2.2% comes from memberships
2% comes from retail sales
1.5% comes from city licenses
0.6% comes from grants
1.8% comes from a combination of other categories
We receive no funding from the Humane Society of the United States or other Humane Societies.
We also receive no funding from the state or the federal government. The funds we receive from the Goodhue County, City of Red Wing, and other municipalities are for the contracted animal control services that we provide.
